Royal Diamond
Got another royal flush only a month later.
This one was worth more than the Party Spades Royal. This one was on PokerRoom. They have a promotion.
They give you 100 times the big blind, so it was worth another $100. Thanks Poker Room, I'll take the prize money, but I don't feel that I had much to do with achieving it, by playing 6 10 offsuit from the big blind. I didn't even have to chase the Queen on the turn, with no one betting it. After the queen, the other two called me down, having the 2nd nuts (9d) and 3rd nuts (8d).
The achieve comment in the email brought up something I have thought about since playing poker - saying 'nice play.' That doesn't fit in my view of Poker. I can understand 'nice play' at a higher level, where you are putting a move on someone, but in that situation, the person that gets the move put on them either wouldn't realize it, or would be mad about it. At the levels I play, there aren't many 'nice plays' one can make. It's more waiting for the good cards, betting the correct odds, making the correct calls due to percentages, and outwaiting the gamblers. The cards have more to do with it than I do. You may be thinking I'm underestimating the talent I've gotten through study and play, but the feeling I'm talking about is more along the lines of getting dealt pocket kings, and the flop coming KKA. That's not a nice play, that's a nice 'horse shoe up your ass.'
Since I'm making a rare update, I thought I'd share with you how people are finding this blog I've been neglecting. If you are googling for 'Donk Poker,' This URL used to be the #1 item. Now it's fallen off the front page. Good thing, as I don't want to be known as the center of donk poker. I guess that term is catching on, even though I've read that there are bloggers that despise it. Someone from Irvine was looking 'how to nut peddle poker.' Nut peddling in poker isn't that hard. Just wait for the big pocket pairs and bet the hell out of them. Of course, in college I considered doing a different kind of nut peddling. That also would have been for some extra cash, but would have involved tupperwear and porn. An MSN user found this site looking for a 'Spade Royal Flush Picture.' They should be happy to know I've since doubled my supply of these type of pictures by suppling the above Diamond Royal Flush Picture.
